You may have noticed the board was down for a little while the afternoon of Sunday, February 7th. I was running a software update bringing the forum's version from 3.0.4 to 3.0.6. (We apparently missed 3.0.5 - oops!)

There are a number of bug fixes, as well as some various changes in feature but pretty much everything should look and act mostly the same.

As always, should you encounter any problems, please feel free to reply here and report them.

Thanks!

hey M, now whenever I click on view active topics it says that they don't exist. I'm guessing it has to do with the update lol. I was told to try refreshing my cache but that didn't work either. I'm not sure what else to try...help?

Thanks in advance,

-nai :)

Hm..no idea. Honestly, it's not something I've ever used before so I'm not sure how it's supposed to work or why it wouldn't show anything any longer. I'll see if I can find anything about it.

edit: Ok, I found this on the official phpBB forum:

Re: 3.0.5 to 3.0.6 View Active Topics not working

Postby Kevin Clark ยป Fri Nov 27, 2009 6:42 pm
There was a bug in 3.0.5 that meant all the forums were used for active topics even if the option was on no.

In 3.0.6 this has been fixed so you need to edit each forum (manage forums>green cog icon) and turn it on for the ones you want to use.

I'm not sure I understand what the difference between this feature and simply looking for new posts? I don't mind enabling it but honestly I just don't exactly know what it does. Care to explain how you utilized it for me? Thanks!

I used to use it just to see what topics people were commenting on, but you're right there is no difference between "view new posts" and "view active topics". That night the "view new posts" feature wasn't loading for me. My laptop hates me often lol. I'm sorry for bothering you about this. Thanks for responding though, its nice how personable you and the other moderators are with the site members :)

I don't know if the chat is linked to the board software update, I think it's not because it's something added to the board.

Anyway clear the browser temporary files, then clear the flash settings at this page http://www.macromedia.com/support/docum ... ger07.html
When you have done both these things try again.

Chat is a separate program and wasn't changed with the board software update.
